Creating something becomes difficult when I forget the freedom that exists inherently in the creative process. My “editor” sneaks in so often making me think of the audience that will hear me or my peers who may criticize my efforts and she keeps me from exploring whatever I want. I’ve stopped myself before I have even begun. However, when I let myself have fun without fear, then I come up with some great stuff. Once everything is out there, then I can go back and edit and fix things. It really takes practice to let go and enjoy the freedom of expression without worrying about the reaction of others.

Hi, I got a Chinese edition of this that I bought from China. We had a friend beautifully translate it for us – and we loved it. Became one of my favorite books.

I’m still looking for the English adaptation (text) though. (Hence bumping into your blog.) =)

Thanks for sharing this article. I’m interested in reading the book, “The Busy Mom’s Guide to Spiritual Survival.” By nature, I’m very task oriented and enjoy “doing” things. My recent journey into motherhood has forced me to slow down and “be.” When I nurse my baby, watch her play, rock her to sleep, take her for long walks in the stroller… these are times when I am quiet and God can speak to me; I’m living in the moment. So, I’m praising God for little babies and for this adventure of motherhood, because it’s making me less selfish, less busy, and more aware of the present, more connected to God.
