Paper View

neenah paper - eames paper collection

For anyone who has ever gone giddy holding a Neenah Paper swatchbook (ok, that would be me) – Now there is Paper TV. Maybe only slightly more fun than watching paint dry. You can see paper being made at the Appleton Mill. Or watch someone reading a paper swatchbook.

More fun for the paper lover.

Wanderlust: Part II

vincent laforet

Aerial photographs are great for seeing something new or seeing something old in a new way.

Here are a couple of great sites:
Vincent Laforet
Alex S. MacLean

I was happy enough with the abstract aerial shots of Google Maps but Street View and Panoramio are favorites for finding my way in unfamiliar territory.
So many ways to explore places I have never been and new ways to see what becomes routine.

I begin my French course next week and so I picked up a
notebook with an illustration by the wonderful French illustrator,
graphic designer and author Marc Boutavant. You can find his
notebooks at Jasper + Black

Evernote to the Rescue

evernote

Imagine being able to keep all the scraps of ideas around you – flashes of insight filed away – like a Rolodex of your daily soundtrack. And being able to search through it like a civilized person and not like someone madly rummaging through a sock drawer. Ahhhhhh… Evernote.
The best part is that its text recognition wizardry can search for words in photos and images. Writers doing research. Creative brainstorming. Artists trying to remember the colors of the spices at the market. The possibilities are endless.
